"Cabbage sticker" to prove that it's Korean kimchi.

Remember the Chinese kimchi wave? There were many people who didn't eat kimchi at restaurants for a while.

The "cabbage sticker," which certifies that it is domestic kimchi, has come out as a solution.

"Cheap imported kimchi is turned into domestic kimchi to prevent it from being sold and protect consumers' right to know..."."

The "Domestic Kimchi Certification Labeling System" was introduced in Jeollanam-do to prevent cheap imported kimchi from becoming domestic.

When a restaurant applies for certification, a very difficult on-site verification takes place.

In addition to raw materials such as cabbage and radish, "certification stickers" are issued only when domestic ingredients such as red pepper powder, garlic, salted fish, and salt are all used.

Six months after the system was implemented in May, 3,250 general restaurants in Jeollanam-do, 16% of the total, were certified.

94% of schools that provide group meals, public institutions and companies were also issued "cabbage stickers."
